Barrhaven Toastmasters had a themed meeting night on March 09 - Barrhaven Speech Idol -

Three speakers, Heather Pardon, Gord Bell and Sue Zheng entered the Speech Idol contest and spoke in front of the audience and a panel of judges.

Heather gave a speech on "following your heart" - an uplifting story about her life changing experience. Gord gave a humorous yet informative speech on how modern tech gizmo is eating up our time, and Sue gave a speech on "How to raise a Pig" in rural Chinese village - informative personal story. The panel of judges gave passionate and compassionate feedback on each speech. The panel was featuring Pauline Kuhlmann (aka Paula), Ari Schwartz (aka Simon), and Rattan Muradia (aka Randy). The Idol Contest was won by Sue Zheng. Congratulations Sue! Thank you for all speakers for wonderful speeches, and the judges, audience who voted the best speaker for this contest.
